Chinese garlic bulbs have 8-10 cloves centered around a central stalk and are round. The exterior wrappings of the golf ball-sized bulb are thin, parchment-like, and white with violet streaks. The cloves are crescent-shaped and can be light gold to white in hue. Garlic from China is creamy, peppery, and pungent.
