Cotton, hibiscus, and hollyhock are all linked to okra, which belongs to the Mallow family. It's a tall (6 ft) tropical annual herb grown for its tasty green seed pods (there is also a red pod variety, which turns green when cooked). It has enormous, yellow hibiscus-like blooms and heart-shaped leaves (one variety is farmed for its delicious leaves).
